Welcome to Consta. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Consta mobile application and related services ("Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Consta, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Consta is a focus-lock Android application that helps you schedule focus blocks, lock device distractions during sessions, set challenge-based wake alarms, and track your productivity with mentor support. The Service includes the mobile app, backend API, and any related features we provide.
2. Account Registration
You may use Consta as a guest or create an account. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- You may sign out from the Account screen at any time.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
By using Consta, you agree to:
- Use focus lock and wake alarms responsibly and only for personal productivity purposes.
- Not attempt to circumvent, disable, or tamper with the lock mechanism except through designated emergency unlock features.
- Not use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
- Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
4. Focus Lock and Device Permissions
Consta uses device admin, overlay, and related Android permissions to lock your device during focus sessions. By enabling these permissions, you acknowledge that:
- Your device will be locked and inaccessible to other apps during active focus sessions.
- Emergency unlocks are limited and should only be used in genuine emergencies.
- You are responsible for ensuring you can receive important calls or messages through appropriate device settings.
- Consta is not responsible for missed communications during locked sessions.
5. Wake Alarms
Consta's wake alarm feature uses math challenges and photo verification to prevent easy dismissal. By using wake alarms, you agree that:
- Alarms are intentionally difficult to dismiss and require completing all challenges.
- Back, Home, and other standard dismissal methods will not stop a ringing alarm.
- You should not rely on Consta wake alarms as your sole alarm for critical appointments.
- Camera permission is required for photo verification challenges.
6. Premium Subscriptions
Consta offers a Premium subscription ("Consta+") with additional features including extended usage history, unlimited focus sessions, and full mentor chat access.
- Premium may be activated through in-app purchase or coupon codes.
- Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies will be displayed at the time of purchase.
- Premium features may change; we will provide reasonable notice of material changes.
- When Premium expires, your account reverts to free-tier limits (e.g., 3-day usage history).
7. Mentor and Support Services
Consta may connect you with mentors who can view your usage data and communicate with you through in-app chat. Mentors provide guidance and support but do not provide medical, psychological, or professional counseling services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Consta is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
Do not rely on Consta for medical, safety-critical, or emergency communication. The focus lock and alarm features are productivity tools, not safety or emergency devices. In case of emergency, use your device's native emergency features or contact emergency services directly.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Consta and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, missed appointments, or device malfunction, arising from your use of the Service.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding associated with Consta are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission.
11. Privacy
Your use of Consta is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app or on this page. Your continued use of Consta after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using Consta at any time by uninstalling the app and signing out of your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Consta shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
